How to convert a PDF to PNG
1. Drop one PDF. A photo is refused here. 2. Leave 150 dpi for a slide or a form you will share. Pick 72 for a quick preview, or 300 when the PNG will be printed. 3. Type a page or a range such as 2-4 when you do not need the whole file. Leave the field empty for every page. 4. Press “Convert to PNG”. One page downloads on its own. Two or more give you a link for each file and a ZIP.
pdf.js draws each page the way a viewer shows it, including text, lines and pictures, at the dpi you pick. A 300 dpi page is much larger than a 72 dpi page of the same document.
A picture of the page, not the photos inside it
Extract images from PDF pulls the picture objects stored in the file and skips the rest of the page. This page paints the whole page, so a heading and a chart land in the same PNG.
PDF to JPG is the same renderer with JPG selected. PDF to images lets you switch between the two. Share this address when the next step must be PNG.
The PDF stays in this tab
The renderer loads into this browser. GustKit does not fetch a PDF from a link. Close the tab and the file is gone. A password protected PDF has to be unlocked first.
How to check the PNG pages
1. Open one PNG next to the PDF. 2. The heading and the pictures on that page should both be there. 3. If the file is JPG, you opened PDF to JPG.
Extract images from PDF pulls stored pictures and skips the rest of the page. This page paints the whole page with pdf.js and saves PNG. Nothing is uploaded.
