How to freeze a frame
1. Drop a short video you already have. A photo or an audio file is refused here. 2. Type the time, or set it from the player. 3. Leave image, or pick MP4. For an image, leave PNG or pick JPG. For MP4, leave 2 seconds or pick 1 or 3. 4. Press “Freeze frame” and download.
Image draws that one frame on the canvas. MP4 runs the FFmpeg tpad filter: it keeps the frame at that time and clones it for the hold you picked. A 2 second hold lasts a little over 2 seconds because the first frame is kept and then cloned. The soundtrack is left out. A photo belongs on the image pages. Video to JPG is the page that only saves a JPG.
A still, not a slowed clip
Change video speed stretches the whole clip. Trim video keeps a moving range. This page keeps one picture. Image is a single PNG or JPG. MP4 repeats that picture so a player can hold it. Keep the original until the download looks right.
The clip stays in this tab
The canvas and FFmpeg run in this browser. GustKit does not fetch video from a link. Close the tab and the file is gone. Clips up to the limit shown next to the button.
How to check the frozen frame
1. Open the download next to the original at the time you typed. 2. The picture should match that moment and should not move. 3. If the download is a moving clip, you opened a different page.
Video to JPG saves one JPEG. This page can also save PNG, or hold the frame as MP4 with the FFmpeg tpad filter. Nothing is uploaded.
