Add a padded border around a photo

Drop a picture, choose a width and a color, and download a larger file with that frame on every side. The original pixels sit in the middle.

Your file never leaves your device. Processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Location and camera metadata (EXIF) are removed from the result.

The frame is added around the photo, so the file grows by twice the width on each axis. Transparent pixels inside the photo stay clear in PNG and WebP.

How to add a border to an image

1. Drop one photo or a batch. A PDF is refused here. 2. Pick Thin when you want a hairline, or Wide when the frame should read at a glance. 3. Leave White, or choose Black, Blue, or a custom color. 4. Press “Add border” and open the download next to the original.

The new width is the old width plus twice the frame. The new height grows the same way. A 32 px border on a 1000 by 800 photo becomes 1064 by 864.

The frame is padding, not a stroke on top

The color is painted around the photo. It does not cover the picture. Round corners is the page that changes the shape without growing the file. Resize image changes the photo itself and does not add this band.

Save PNG when the photo has clear pixels you want to keep inside the frame. JPG fills those inner clear pixels with white and keeps the border color outside. Camera location is left out of the result.

Drawn where you dropped it

The canvas makes a larger bitmap, paints the color, and copies the photo into the middle. Close the tab and both files are gone from this page.

How to check the border before you post the photo

1. Open the download and measure a corner. The frame should be the color you picked, on every side. 2. If the frame looks thin on a large photo, run again at Wide. 3. If the picture itself should stay the same pixel size, this page is the wrong one: the file grows.

The width is the same on the top, bottom, left and right. Round corners changes the shape of the picture and does not add this frame. Nothing is uploaded.
