  1. Choose file
  2. Set options
  3. Get result

Your file never leaves your device. Processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Location and camera metadata (EXIF) are removed from the result.

This page only accepts JPG and saves PNG.

How to convert JPG to PNG

1. Drop one or more JPG files. PNG and WebP are refused here. 2. Press “Convert images”. 3. Download the PNG files, or a ZIP when you converted several.

PNG does not add detail that the JPG already threw away. It only stores the pixels you have without a second round of JPEG compression. The file is often larger than the JPG.

When PNG is the right output

Use it for an editor, a slide tool or a form that rejects JPG, and when you will edit the picture again and do not want more JPEG blocks. For a smaller photo to send in chat, keep JPG or convert to WebP on Convert image.

What stays and what goes

Width and height stay the same. Camera location is not copied, because the file is redrawn on the canvas. A JPG never had a transparent background, so the PNG will not invent one.

Frequently asked questions

Will PNG make a blurry JPG sharp?

No. Conversion does not recover detail. It only avoids compressing the picture again as JPEG.

Why is the PNG bigger?

PNG is lossless. A photo that was small as JPG often grows when every pixel is stored without JPEG compression.

Can I convert a folder?

You can drop a batch up to the limit on the page. The browser does not offer a special folder picker beyond that.

Is the JPG uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in this tab.
