How to compress dynamics
1. Drop an audio file you already have. A photo or a video is refused here. 2. Leave light, or pick medium or strong. 3. Press “Apply compressor” and download.
GustKit runs the FFmpeg acompressor filter. Light uses a ratio of 2 and 3 dB of makeup gain. Medium uses a ratio of 4 and 6 dB. Strong uses a ratio of 8 and 9 dB. MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC stay in that type. A video soundtrack belongs on the video pages.
Dynamics, not a smaller file
Compress audio lowers the bitrate and can turn WAV into MP3. Normalize lifts the whole file toward one loudness. This page squeezes peaks and adds a little makeup gain, and it leaves the extension the same. It does not change the volume knob by itself.
The audio stays in this tab
FFmpeg runs in this browser. GustKit does not fetch audio from a link. Close the tab and the file is gone. Files up to the limit shown next to the button.
How to check the compressor
1. Play the download next to the original. 2. A quiet note should sit closer to a loud one. Strong should lift more than light. 3. If the file type changed, you opened a different page.
Compress audio lowers the bitrate. This page runs the FFmpeg acompressor filter and keeps the file type. Peaks get squeezed and a little makeup gain comes back. Nothing is uploaded.
