FFmpeg deshake shifts each frame to reduce shake. The picture is re-encoded. Clips up to 8 seconds. A GIF belongs on the GIF pages.

How to deshake a video

1. Drop a short video you already have. A GIF or an audio file is refused here. 2. Leave medium, or pick light or strong. 3. Press “Deshake video” and download the MP4.

GustKit runs the FFmpeg deshake filter. It looks at each frame and shifts the picture to reduce shake. Light allows a small shift. Strong allows a larger one. The edges are filled from the frame itself on light and medium, and mirrored on strong. A soundtrack is kept when the file has one.

A short clip, a new MP4

Crop video cuts a rectangle and does not steady the camera. Video border adds a colored frame. This page keeps the whole picture and moves it to fight the shake. The download is always MP4, because the frames are re-encoded. Clips stay within the limit shown next to the button, since deshake reads every frame.

The clip stays in this tab

FFmpeg runs in this browser on one CPU thread. GustKit does not fetch a video from a link. Leave the tab open until the download appears. Close it and the file is gone.

How to check the steadied clip

1. Play the download next to the original. 2. A shaky pan should move less in the download. 3. If the edges look mirrored, you picked Strong. Run again on Medium for a fill from the frame itself.

Crop video cuts a rectangle. Letterbox adds bars. This page shifts the whole picture with deshake and saves MP4. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

The download is an MP4 and the picture still fills the frame. Did it work?

Yes. Deshake shifts the picture. It does not crop to a new size. A steady source changes less than a shaky one.

Why is there a short time limit?

Deshake reads every frame. A long clip would sit on one CPU thread for a long time, so this page takes short clips only.

Can I deshake a clip and also crop it in one step?

No. Deshake it first, or crop it first, then open the other page on the download.

Is the video uploaded?

No. FFmpeg runs in this tab.

The download is MP4 and about the same length. Did it work?

Yes. Deshake re-encodes the frames and keeps the clock time. A clip that was already steady changes less.

Can I deshake a clip and also add a border in one step?

No. Deshake it first, or add the border first, then open the other page on the download.
