How to balance stereo audio
1. Drop an audio file you already have. A video is refused here. 2. Leave center, or pick full left, a little left, a little right or full right. 3. Press “Balance audio” and download the same file type.
GustKit runs the FFmpeg pan filter. Full left keeps the left channel and silences the right. Full right keeps the right channel and silences the left. A little left leaves the right at half. A mono file is copied into both channels first, then the balance is applied.
Balance, not a format change
Mono to stereo copies one channel into both and leaves them equal. Stereo to mono mixes both channels into one. Change volume raises or lowers the whole file. This page sets how much of each side you hear, and MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC keep their type.
The audio stays in this tab
FFmpeg runs in this browser. GustKit does not fetch audio from a link. Close the tab and the file is gone. Audio up to the limit shown next to the button.
How to check the stereo balance
1. Play the download with headphones. 2. Full left should sit in the left ear. Full right should sit in the right ear. 3. If both ears still match, the source was already centered and you left Center selected.
Change volume moves the whole file louder or quieter. Mono to stereo copies one channel into both. This page sets the left and right gains with the pan filter. Nothing is uploaded.
