How to posterize a video
1. Drop a video you already have. A photo or an audio file is refused here. 2. Leave 4 steps, or pick 2 or 8. 3. Press “Posterize video” and download the MP4.
GustKit runs an FFmpeg lookup that matches Posterize image. 2 steps pushes a mid gray toward black or white. 4 steps keeps 0, 85, 170 and 255. 8 steps keeps more of the original. Width and height stay the same. A soundtrack is encoded again in AAC and stays in step.
Fewer steps, not a new tint
Posterize image does these same counts on a JPG or PNG. Video hue turns the color wheel. Color grade tints the frame. Pixelate video paints blocks. This page flattens the steps on a short clip and saves MP4. It does not crop the frame and it does not change the speed.
The video stays in this tab
FFmpeg runs in this browser, on one thread. GustKit does not fetch a video from a link. Leave the tab open until the download appears. Close it and the file is gone. Clips up to the limit shown next to the button.
How to check the posterize
1. Play the download next to the original. 2. A smooth gray should fall onto flat steps. 2 steps should move it farther than 8. 3. If the download is not MP4, or the frame size changed, you opened a different page.
Posterize image does the same counts on a photo. This page runs an FFmpeg lookup, keeps the frame size, and saves MP4. Nothing is uploaded.
