How to even out the volume
1. Drop an audio file you already have. A photo or a video is refused here. 2. Leave medium, or pick light or strong. 3. Press “Even out audio” and download.
GustKit runs the FFmpeg dynaudnorm filter. It looks at short windows and lifts what is quiet, up to a gain cap. Light uses a lower ceiling and a smaller cap. Strong lifts more. MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC stay in that type. Normalize audio is the other page: it sets one loudness target for the whole file with loudnorm.
A lift over time, not one target
Normalize audio measures the whole file and aims at one LUFS number. Change volume multiplies the file by one gain. A compressor squeezes peaks. This page raises quiet windows and leaves a peak ceiling, so a whisper can come up without a single number for the whole file. Fade audio still owns the fade in and the fade out.
The audio stays in this tab
FFmpeg runs in this browser. GustKit does not fetch audio from a link. Close the tab and the file is gone. Files up to the limit shown next to the button. A very short blip has few windows, so the lift can be small.
How to check the level
1. Play the download next to the original. 2. A quiet part should sit higher. Strong should lift more than light. 3. If the file type changed, you opened a different page.
Normalize audio sets one loudness target with loudnorm. This page runs FFmpeg dynaudnorm and keeps the file type. Nothing is uploaded.
